My Story

Thank you for visiting Veterans Helping Hands. I'm Christine, and I’m honored to share my journey and mission with you. As a veteran myself and having dedicated over 13 years to the Veterans Health Administration, my commitment to supporting our veteran community is deeply personal and unwavering.

I’m a proud veteran Serving in the Army and Navy. Like many of you, my family and I have dedicated our lives to serving in various ways.

I traveled across Columbus, Ohio, in a mobile unit for over 5 years with Outreach, enrolling veterans in healthcare and benefits.
Alongside three remarkable women colleagues, this work was incredibly fulfilling. This job allowed me to connect with so many individuals and make a tangible difference.

Life took an unexpected turn when I had to relocate from Columbus to Jacksonville, Florida, to care for my father, who was battling Parkinson's. During this challenging time, I sold my home, left my beloved job, and embarked on a new journey in an unfamiliar city. This transition was overwhelming, both physically and emotionally.

While managing these responsibilities, I witnessed alarming rates of homelessness and suicide within the veteran community, fueling my passion further. This led to the creation of Veterans On the Move, a venture employing veterans to assist with moving services. Unfortunately, like many businesses, we had to halt operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Now, I am eager and determined to restart this journey with a renewed commitment through Veterans Helping Hands. This initiative is not just a project; it’s a life mission aimed at transforming lives. By hiring veterans and supporting seniors, we create pathways for stability, purpose, and community connection, offering hope to those who have given so much.

Thank you for visiting. I welcome you to join us in this journey of making a lasting, positive impact.

Weather you are a veteran seeking renewed purpose or a senior desiring compassionate support, our doors are open. Together, let’s build a caring community where everyone feels acknowledged and empowered.

I invite you to join me on this journey. The road is long, but with shared passion and commitment, we can create a brighter, more inclusive future.

Warm regards,

Christine
